Our Charities

Across the ITC group, we give back through supporting a number of charitable organisations.

Alzheimer’s Research UK

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the leading research charity for dementia, generating awareness of the disease and its causes, as well as funding innovate scientific projects aimed at developing cures, treatments and methods of prevention for the condition.

As ITC’s chosen charity for 2024, ITC staff will be hosting and taking part in various fundraising events across the year in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Between 26 – 29 Sept, staff from three of our ITC group brands will cycle 300 miles between our main hubs of London, Bristol, and Chester. Read more and donate at the link below.

Money for Madagascar

For every booking made to Madagascar through Rainbow, we make a charitable donation to Money for Madagascar. Founded in 1986, the organisation leads a number of projects to tackle issues of food security, loss of bio-diversity, poor health and extreme poverty. They also respond to emergencies with important relief efforts.

In 2023, we donated £6,442 as part of the ‘Big Give’ drive, which will help support local communities and restore rainforest.

Uthando

Rainbow makes a donation from every South Africa holiday to Uthando.

The funds go towards projects such as Isiseko Educare Centre, started by the wonderful Mama Zoliswa Siko, which now provides education for 100 of the most vulnerable and underprivileged children in Mfuleni Township.

ChildAid

ChildAid was established in 1973 and, over the years, has evolved into a charitable organisation involved in helping street children and those from families living in crisis in Belarus, Moldova, Russia and the Ukraine. This is done through the sponsorship of children and abandoned babies with funds going towards providing long-term care.

ITC staff have personally sponsored a child and are updated regularly on their progress. All clients travelling to the area are provided with information on ChildAid so they can choose to get involved if they so wish.

Chernobyl Heart

Chernobyl Heart was set up by two clients who had previously travelled with Regent to Belarus and were moved help the children still being affected by the fallout from the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

As the new generation of residents start families in an attempt to move on, children are still being born with cardiac conditions which heavily affect their quality of life. At Regent we donate to this organisation in an attempt to help alleviate at least one child’s suffering.

Draktsho Vocational Training Centre for Special Children and Youths

When travelling with Regent to Bhutan, a contribution is made to Draktsho Vocational Training Centre for Special Children and Youths.

Draktsho is a service-oriented civil society organisation which aspires to enhance the living standards of disabled youths through empowerment. One of the greatest challenges for the Draktsho is to erase the deeply embedded stigma that the disabled cannot learn and earn a living. Through training and eventual integration into the mainstream population, Draktsho aims to equip disadvantaged youths with the tools to help themselves.

Orangutan Appeal UK

Working with Orangutan Appeal UK, Regent supports Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre near Sandakan in Borneo. The centre helps to rehabilitate and propagate the endangered orangutan population with a staged wild release programme.

For every Borneo booking made through Regent, we adopt our chosen Sepilok juvenile orangutan, Gelison, in the client names for a year. This donation contributes to the important work being done at Sepilok.

Pack for a Purpose

ITC supports Pack for a Purpose, a charity established to encourage direct contributions to worthy causes around the world. Their goal is to assist travellers who wish to extend their generosity to local communities by advising on specific projects and charities in their destination of choice and the equipment they may urgently need. Supplies can be as simple as pencils and notebooks, which can be packed in a suitcase when visiting, and dropped off with the organisations ground agents.
